Canada Night 2010 - Partnerships are an important aspect of the continental NAWMP program. Canada Night 2010, a quadrennial recognition event, was held in September during the 100th Annual Meeting of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. This special reception, which attracted hundreds of American and Canadian NAWMP/NAWCA partners, was an opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of United States partners that supported wetland and waterfowl conservation work in Canada over the previous four years.

Habitat Matters 2010 Annual Report - The most recent Canadian NAWMP Annual Report was published in March 2011, and is available here. 

NAWCA Amendment - In 2010, the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (1989) was amended. Where previously, the NAWCA federal grant funding required a 1:1 match with U.S. non-federal funding, under the new amendment, up to 50% of the match portion can come from Canadian funding sources (both federal and non-federal). This amendment will allow Canadian funding partners to contribute more fully to the NAWCA program.
